For over three decades, he has shaped the language of jungle and drum & bass—not just as a producer, but as a foundational architect of UK sound system culture. “Original Nuttah” didn’t simply break through; it redrew the boundaries of what underground music could mean in the mainstream. Through Ebony Recordings and Digital Soundboy, Shy FX has moved instinctively across reggae, rave, hip-hop and soul, always pushing bass music forward while staying anchored to its roots.

This summer, Shy FX steps into City Recital Hall for a rare, one-off performance—joined by a figure who has carved his own influential path: Mala. A founding member of DMZ and the driving force behind Deep Medi Musik, Mala helped shape dubstep’s earliest language and opened doors for a movement that stretched across the world.
